About the Event

About the Talk: We’ve become used to travelling abroad for our holidays, but the many travel restrictions and disruptions of recent years has made the ‘Staycation’ an ever-more popular choice. The British Isles may not be able to guarantee wall-to-wall sunshine, but it boasts some of the most diverse and spectacular scenery in the world. Roger’s talk will take you on a Grand Tour around the British Isles; stopping to admire the views in Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Snowdonia, the Lake District, the Scottish Highlands, the Northumberland coast, the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and East Anglia - all without leaving the comfort of your armchair!

About the Speaker:Roger Hance has been fascinated by the art of photography for many years, joining his local Ipswich & District Photographic Society in 1984. In 1990 he won Amateur Photographer magazine’s Photographer of the Year award - the competition was judged by Patrick Lichfield. Roger has since won numerous other photography awards; in the UK and also in international competitions. He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, (RPS) and serves on various RPS assessment panels. Regular Zoom attendees will recall Roger’s beautifully illustrated talk to us last year, ‘The Secret Life of a Wood’. We’re delighted to welcome him back!
