About the Event

About the talk: Ian Currie is a professional meteorologist and a fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. He works as a freelance consultant in the horticultural, agricultural and insurance sectors, (Ian was one of the handful of meteorologists who correctly forecast ‘The Great Storm’ of October 1987) Ian has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things weather. This, combined with his vast archive of weather-related ephemera; newspaper reports, weather photographs and statistics - plus his great, quirky sense of humour, means that his talks are both educational and entertaining. He has made many radio and TV appearances and is a regular contributor to the BBC Radio Sussex gardening programme, ‘Dig It!’ most recent was on Sunday, (29th) for Ian’s thoughts and observations about August’s weather, plus a long-range forecast for September!
