About the Event

About the talk: Do you take boring pictures of flowers and gardens? Try your best, but everything kind-of looks a bit … flat? Then this is the talk for you! Fear not - this is not a highly technical presentation. Instead, Mark will explain how to capture great images by thinking about composition, theme, colour and shape - and how to utilise natural light to make your pictures come alive. You don’t need fancy hi-tech equipment - much can be achieved by using a mobile phone. The talk will be lavishly illustrated with Mark’s atmospheric and inspirational pictures, so is well worth a watch, even if you’re not a keen photographer …

About the speaker: Horticulturalist and award-winning photographer, Mark Saunders, is Head Gardener at Fittleworth House, nr Pulborough. The 3-acre garden is densely planted in a dreamy, romantic style; particular features include 150ft long mixed borders, fine ancient trees and an immaculately maintained walled fruit and vegetable garden. Mark’s other passion is motor racing. He takes a camera with him wherever he goes and is equally happy at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show - or the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
